Reaper of the Drifting Moon 304 (My own MTL edited version)

CHAPTER 304

Yoo Il-seok was wearing a red hood and reading a yellow booklet. The booklet he was reading contained a list of the cargoes that had entered the port today on the ships. With this booklet, he could clearly know which goods were carried on which ship and where they were being sold.

It was an invaluable treasure for Yoo Il-seok.

Thanks to this booklet, the Red Banner Group, which was just a group of laborers, could stand on an equal footing with giant flood control organizations like Haeryongbang.

Yoo Il-seok analyzed the booklet that came in every day to predict which upper echelon would benefit the most and invested accordingly.

Thanks to this, the Red Banner Group grew to be at least five times larger than when he became the leader twenty years ago.

Yoo Il-seok used the money he earned to train his own unmanned workers. As a result, they now boasted a similar power to that of Haeryongbang.

This was the status of the Red Banner Group as seen by outsiders. However, Yoo Il-seok knew the truth. In reality, the Red Banner Group was far inferior to Haeryongbang. That's why he was thinking about how to increase their power today as well.

"Boss!"

A urgent voice broke Yoo Il-seok's peace.

Yoo Il-seok had a feeling that something had happened from his subordinate's urgent voice. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been looking for him at this ambitious hour.

"What happened?"

"Something big has happened."

"Something big?"

Only then did Yoo Il-seok stand up from his seat and went outside.

Outside, his servant was standing with his head bowed.

"What happened?"

"Third Master has been seriously injured."

"Third Master?"

"Yes!"

Yoo Il-seok furrowed his brow.

Even though he heard that his child was hurt, his reaction wasn't particularly emotional. It was definitely different from the typical response of parents.

Yoo Il-seok asked his servant,

'What's the status?'

'He's become a vegetable. And one arm is completely shattered and it seems impossible to recover since the nerves are severed.'

'What... is the cause?'

'Um...'

'Is it because of bruising again?'

'I'm sorry.'

'These darn things are ruining our family's reputation.'

Yoo Il-seok's face turned red.

His eyes were filled with anger.

Rather than the fact that his child was injured, the fact that he was embarrassed by getting bruised made him angry.

'This time, who did you touch?'

'I didn't even touch anyone.'

'Then what?

Before I touched him, I heard that an old man begged for mercy.”

"An old man?"

"I heard he came from Saewae."

"Did someone from a distant land dare to turn my son into a corpse in my territory?"

He accepted his son's disgraceful defeat calmly, but the fact that a stranger from Saewae caused trouble in his territory made him angry.

It was a matter of his pride.

Although he was inferior to Haeryongbang, Red Banner Group was still evaluated as a strong force that shared the power in Haemun. The fact that an old man from Saewae caused a disturbance in Red Banner Group's territory hurt his pride.

"Let's go!"

"Yes?"

"We're going where he is."

"Okay."

"Call the first and second sons too."

"Yes!"

Yugunsang, the eldest son, and Yusangyeong, the second son, were both recognized as strong men in powerful clans..

They were all sitting in Red Banner Group's important positions.

When such an incident occurred, the only ones to trust were family members who shared blood.

The servants immediately informed Yugunsang and Yusangyeong that Yul-seok had called for them. They immediately joined Yul-seok's procession with their guards.

When Yul-seok stepped forward, more than a hundred Red Banner Group warriors moved together.

"What's going on?"

"Oh no! Looks like something big is happening."

Those who saw Yoo Il-seok move murmured in concern.

It was extremely rare for him to move on his own, but when he did, something significant usually happened.

A flurry of whispers erupted.

That's how Yoo Il-seok protected his territory and the Red Banner Council.

If he had any flaw, it was his third son, Yoo Cheol-gwang. Apart from that, he was a perfect man.

People thought that since he had moved, whatever problem there was would be resolved soon.

Yoo Il-seok was a man with the power to match the Red Banner Council's headquarters. Moreover, he had over a hundred subordinates following him.

They were the council's actual force.

Born and raised in Hae-mun, they were known for their roughness and for not backing down until they died once a war started.

They were said to be so rough and demonic that even the strongest warriors would respect the council's territory because of them.

Yoo Gun-sang, the eldest son, asked, "What's going on this time?"

He didn't know why they were gathered on this late night yet."

"Cheol-gwang has returned as a superhuman warrior."

"Really?"

"Yes! He tried to do that thing again but this time he met a proper opponent."

"How long do we have to clean up after that bastard?"

Eventually, Yu Gun-sang exploded in anger.

His second son, Yu San-gyeong, couldn't hold back his anger either.

"Damn it! Even if he's my brother, he's nothing but trash..."

Snap!

At that moment, Yu Il-seok's palm struck Yu San-gyeong's cheek.

Yu San-gyeong's cheek immediately swelled up.

"Watch your mouth."

"Father?"

"That trash is my own flesh and blood. If you insult him, it's like insulting me for creating him."

"I'm sorry. That's not what I meant."

"I know. Still, be careful with your words."

"Yes, sir."

Yu Il-seok looked at his subordinates.

A large wine jug was visible.

It was the jug that Yu Cheol-gwang had smashed to pieces.

Yu Il-seok addressed his followers.

"Everyone, get ready!"

Yes!"

With their response, the soldiers all drew their weapons.

Bang!

They kicked open the door to the tavern with great force, just like Yoo Cheol-gwang had done. The already damaged door, thanks to Yoo Cheol-gwang, completely broke and fell.

Yoo Il-seok looked around inside the tavern.

It wasn't difficult to find the one who had turned his son into a corpse. Most of the customers had already fled due to the tense atmosphere.

Only three people remained on the first floor, and they were all sitting at the same table.

The first person he noticed was Pyo Wol, a man more beautiful than any woman.

As soon as he saw him, he knew why Yoo Cheol-gwang had been so infatuated. With such a handsome appearance, it wouldn't be strange for even a man to be attracted to him.

Yoo Il-seok looked across from Pyo Wol to an old man. Instinctively, he realized that this was the old man who had turned his son into a corpse.

Yoo Il-seok strode toward the old man. Tarha, the old man, turned to look at him.

Thud!

Yoo Il-seok felt a shock as if his heart had dropped.

He felt a tremendous pressure from Tarha's sunken gaze.

Tarha smiled, as if he found the situation amusing, and looked at Yoo Il-seok.

"Who are you?"

"I am Yoo Il-seok. I am the father of the child you wounded, and the head of the Red Banner Group"

Yoo Il-seok mustered up the courage to reply. But Tarha's response pierced his heart like a dagger.

"Ah, you're the father of that wretched child? I can't even find any sense of manners in the way you raised your child."

"So that's why you made him a corpse?"

"Is he a corpse now? I was going to let him off easy..."

"What is the identity of the old man?"

"Is that important?"

Tarha laughed.

Even though there were over a hundred soldiers filling the tavern, he didn't seem afraid at all.

His granddaughter, Yura-yeon, was the same way.

She didn't even give Yoo Il-seok a glance as she sipped her drink.

As she put down her glass, Yura-yeon asked Pyo Wol.

"They say the best way to get information is from the losers in that area, right?"

"That's right."

"I guess we can get the information now," said Yoo Ah-yeon, revealing her white teeth with a smile.

Pyo Wol looked at Yoo Ah-yeon with deep, sunken eyes.

Tarha had not examined the iron ore because he was worried about Pyo Wol. It was simply because he knew the simple fact that parents come running when their children are in trouble. The only difference in this case was that the parents were the rulers of Haemun.

Crack!

Tarha pushed his chair back and stood up. He spread his arms wide and spoke to Yoo Il-seok.

"The one who turned your son into ashes was me. What are you going to do?"

Yoo Il-seok's jaw muscles twitched for a moment.

A dangerous scent emanated from the old man in front of him. Just by smelling it, cold sweat ran down his spine.

He regretted coming here without prior information.

If he had known that his opponent was such a formidable presence, he would never have come here, even if it meant he didn't have a son to begin with. But regrets are always too late.

He couldn't back down now that he had come this far.

Hundreds of subordinates and people of Haemun were watching his every move across the window.

If he didn't do anything and retreated here, everyone would look down on him. He knew very well what happens to someone who is looked down upon in a gang.

Yoo Il-seok ordered his subordinates, "Attack!"

"Waaaah!"

As his order echoed, his subordinates rushed at Tarha fiercely, wielding their weapons without hesitation.

Swoosh!

A large axe cleaved through the air, and a steel sword came stabbing towards Tarha. However, the miracle of the weapons striking Tarha's body did not happen.

Kwaaang!

With a sound as if a bomb exploded, the attackers who were attacking were all pushed back.

The state of the pushed back fighters was pitifully miserable.

All of them were screaming with their arms and legs twisted in grotesque directions.

"Stop!"

"Please, spare me!"

Among them was Yoo Gun-sang, the eldest son of Yoo Il-seok.

He rushed in first, saying he would stand the ball, but he was seriously injured.

"Reverse Bounce Force."

Pyo Wol immediately recognized the nature of Tarha's stance.

It was a technique that only a few absolute fighters in Kangho could perform, which added rebound force to the force of the opponent's attack and returned it. It was the culmination of Kanggi's martial arts.

"Oh my God!"

Only then did Yoo Il-seok realize the technique that his opponent had unleashed and was amazed.

His opponent was a master with a gap as vast as the sky and the earth. He was not a target that anyone could dare to fight.

"Everyone, retreat."

He shouted belatedly, but it was already too late.

Tarha had infiltrated among the fighters.

Bang! Clang!

The continuous sound of explosions echoed.

Each time, his subordinates screamed and flew backward.

All of them had their arms and legs twisted in grotesque ways or their chests deeply sunken.

Yoo Il-seok felt like he was having a nightmare.

He never dreamed that the situation would deteriorate so quickly.

"Scream!"

"Ah!"

In an instant, the inside of the tavern turned into a hellish road.

Over a hundred subordinates had all collapsed and were groaning in pain.

Tarha walked towards him.

"Please, save me!"

Without even realizing it, Yoo Il-seok kneeled down.

He didn't care about his dignity, other people's eyes, or being criticized.

He threw everything away and kneeled in front of Tarha.

Tarha looked at Yoo Il-seok and his eyes sparkled.

"At least you're not completely clueless. I have a few questions to ask you."

"Ah, please ask me anything. I will answer with sincerity. If there is something I don't know, I will find out somehow and let you know."

"Oh, really?"

Tarha smiled as if he liked Yoo Il-seok's answer.

Yura-yeon poured himself a drink and mumbled,

"These weaklings could never handle the rebellion of the Mara Law Palace."
